As an Australian winemaker in Italy, it’s no surprise that James Bubb is shaking things up a little with his take on Chianti, which he’s affectionately termed ‘Italian Beaujolais’. In particular, this is the first Chianti to be bottled under screwcap and in a Burgundy bottle, opposed to Claret. Mindblowing! Closure and bottle aside, this is inarguably very excellent Sangiovese that can rival the purists.
