The Côte de Brouilly (Coat-de -Brew-ee) is one of the 10 Crus of the Beaujolais wine region to the south of Burgundy in France. Here, Gamay is King/Queen and while the wines of Beaujolais have a reputation for being at the lighter end of the spectrum, the Côte de Brouilly appellation is one of a handful of the crus that have a little more meat on their bones. Still pretty and perfumed with strawberry and spiced cherry and blue-fruits. It’s lovely.
