This pure nerello mascalese comes from ungrafted vines in Contrada Zottorinoto, more specifically, in Chiusa Spagnola, lower in the valley floor. Hidden in a natural amphitheatre, surrounded by lava, this is unique as they come. It’s a profoundly, tannic wine, a bit more backward and Nebbiolo-ish compared to Frank Cornelissen’s other crus. Light.
