Freisa (FRAY-Shar) is an idigenous Piedmontese grape variety and one that provides great value. Think of it as a lighter, crunchier version of Barolo and you’re in the ballpark. Brezza do a great job with the variety and come to think of it, their entire range of wines is pretty schmick. Bright red fruits underscored with spice and herbal notes, dense yet approachable tannin structure and a rustic edge, their Freisa is a thing of beauty.
