Sparkling? Naturally. When we approached our buddies Alpha Box & Dice requesting a unique sparkling wine to launch our new range, winemaker Sam Berketa cracked his knuckles, whipped his hair up into his signature ponytail and got to work on a Pétillant Naturel (Pet-Nat if your French is as good as ours). Pet-Nat needs to be handled with care, and we couldn’t trust anyone more to see the job through. Using McLaren Vale Chardonnay, Sam has spent the better part of 2020 tending to these super limited bottles, riddling them by hand and disgorging for a cleaner finish. It’s his version of a 2020 sourdough or banana bread. This is still packed with plenty of funk, fresh tropical notes and a lively mouthfeel. Splash it round to get the party started.
