Sam Berketa, winemaker for Alpha Box & Dice, openly dislikes most rosés. When challenged to make one, Sam didn't want to fall in the pit of sickly sweet pink drinks. Instead, he washed a blend of Chardonnay and Riesling over Montepulciano and Carignan skins, using the ripasso method to bring out the best of both white and red wines.
